Building Community, One Season at a Time

As your Candidate for Ward 2 Councillor, my goal is to create opportunities for neighbours to connect, volunteer, and celebrate what makes our community special. Together, we can make every season an opportunity to strengthen our community.

Summer

Hamburgers for Heroes

Jim Bond Park

Join us for a free community barbecue as we celebrate the incredible firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and first responders who serve and protect us every day.

Jim Bond was a longtime firefighter who served the town for 40 years and became Newmarket's first fire prevention officer. He was a community volunteer who coached local minor hockey—including future NHLer Jamie Macoun—supported muscular dystrophy charities, and actively participated in local events. What a great way to honour his legacy in this town!

Bring your family, enjoy a complimentary hamburger or hot dog, meet your neighbours, and spend time with the people who help keep our community safe. It's a day of appreciation, friendship, and community pride.

Fall

Pancakes & Pathways

Community Pancake Breakfast & Trail Walk

We'll start the morning with a walk along one of Ward 2's beautiful trails, collecting litter and recycling along the way to help keep our parks and green spaces clean.

Afterwards, we'll gather for a delicious pancake breakfast and enjoy time together as neighbours. It's a simple way to care for our environment while building lasting community connections.

Winter

Coats for Community

Winter Coat, Boot, Hat, Glove & Skate Exchange

As the colder months approach, let's make sure everyone has what they need to stay warm and active.

Donate new or gently used, freshly washed or dry-cleaned winter coats, boots, hats, gloves, scarves, and skates. Families can give what they no longer need and find items that will help them enjoy the season. Together, we can make winter warmer for everyone.

Spring

Ward 2 Community Clean-Up

A cleaner, greener, more connected Ward 2

Spring is the perfect time to come together and give back to our neighbourhood.

Join friends, neighbours, students, and local organizations as we help keep Ward 2 looking its best. This event is also a great opportunity for high school students to earn volunteer hours while making a positive impact in our community.
